Yellowface review
Yellowface
Nasty in the useful way. Finished in a weekend.
8/104.2 / 5
Yellowface is the one readers finish in a weekend and then argue about on the internet. I did the weekend part. It is nasty in a useful way. The narrator is not owed your affection, and the reviews that wanted a likeable guide were unhappy. The pace is the compliment that shows up most. The accusation is that it is thin, or too pleased with its own argument. I did not find it thin. I found it fast and mean and hard to put down on a train. If you want kindness, there are other books on this list.
