Orbital is short, and the reviews divide into people who wanted a plot and people who were happy to float. I read it twice, which is not something I do. It is a day in orbit, written carefully. Almost nothing 'happens'. That is the book.Readers who love it mention the sentences and the scale. Readers who don't mention that they kept waiting for an emergency. There isn't one. If you need an emergency, the reviews have warned you. If you can stand a quiet book, it is the best short one I read this year.
